Cold Fronts & Warm Fronts

Dear friends from Finland,
We usually face cold fronts in São Paulo in summer. Are there warm fronts in Finland in winter?
Students from 6th grade at Escola Móbile

Here´s the answer from Finland:
We have warm fronts around the year, in every seasons, but most in autumn and not so much in spring. Cold and warm air mix above the Atlantic and then they move to East or to North-East towards Finland. Moving low-pressure centers bring warm and wet air to Finland. In the winter it means a little warmer weather and snow. Nowadays we have more and more warm fronts and low-pressure centers because of the greenhouse effect. Like now, temperatures haven't dropped to around freezing, so rains don't come as snow.

The flag of Finland

The flag of Finland (Finnish: Suomen lippu, Swedish: Finlands flagga), also called Siniristilippu ("Blue Cross Flag"), dates from the beginning of the 20th century. It features a blue Nordic cross on a white background. Blue represents lakes and the sky, and white represents snow and the white nights of the Finnish summer.

Where is Finland? Where is Hartola?
